Another Gut Wrenching Georgia Alabama Football Game

Gut wrenching, yes. But this Georgia Alabama football game was gut wrenching for a completely different reason this year. The 2007 game was a slobber knocking, down to the wire, win in overtime classic football game with a great reward waiting at the end for UGA fans leaving Alabama football fans asking, "where are you Bear Bryant?"
This year was a no gas in Georgia, should we cancel the game, chaos filled affair, especially if your a UGA football fan.
John Parker Wilson and the #8 ranked Alabama team headed up by Nick Saban came out and absolutely punched UGA in the mouth the first half of the game and embarrassed the #3 ranked team in the nation. If I could put myself in Georgia head coach Mark Richt's shoes, there is only one question that could be on my mind...What in God's name do I say to this Matthew Stafford led team being down 31-0 at the half?!? Being a man of strong faith I'm sure he was calling on the man upstairs.
Georgia came out strong in the second half and showed signs of being one of the best teams in the nation but when it all boils down to it one of the top teams in the nation doesn't lead the NCAA in penalties a game and is not tied for 2nd in the land for penalty yards a game.
Barring any unforeseen miracles the game was really over with about 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter and Georgia added a couple of late touchdowns to make it somewhat respectable.
Maybe they should've cancelled the game because of the no gas in georgia crisis but the fact of the matter is this John Parker Wilson led Alabama football team really sent a humbling message to a Mark Richt led UGA football team. Good job Nick Saban, Bear Bryant would be proud.
IF we can look forward now.....maybe these two teams will run the table and meet in Atlanta for the SEC championship game for once again another "gut-wrenching" Alabama Georgia game.
I'm a little biased but I hope Matthew Stafford can lead us there.
We can only hope.
